You've probably all noticed it a long time ago, but still, we don't want to withhold it from you: on the 12th of July 2023, a high-profile visit to the Arena Wien will take place. None other than Idles will be the guest. The British post-punk band Idles has experienced an impressive rise in recent years and has made a respectable name for itself in the music scene. Known for their lively and stirring songs, as well as their explosive live performances, the band has built up a loyal fan base and inspired critics worldwide. Arcadia Live and Barracuda Music have managed to bring Idles to the stage at the Arena Vienna as part of their Mega Tour on the 12th of July 2023, which of course makes us very happy.
Idles was founded in Bristol in 2009 and consists of Joe Talbot (vocals), Mark Bowen (guitar), Lee Kiernan (guitar), Adam Devonshire (bass), and Jon Beavis (drums). With their album "Brutalism" released in 2017 and its successor "Joy as an Act of Resistance" from 2018, they have caused a sensation and won many awards. Their album "Ultra Mono" from September 2020, as well as "Crawler," which was released in November 2021, have once again far exceeded the expectations of fans and critics. The audience can look forward to a powerful and intense performance with songs from all these grandiose albums by Idles, which will ensure an unforgettable night with their committed and passionate nature, especially because it will once again be one of the magnificent Arena OpenAir evenings. Frontman Joe Talbot is known for his intense and provocative lyrics, as well as his captivating stage presence, which is often supported by his bandmates and the audience. Songs like "Danny Nedelko," "Colossus," and "Grounds" are just a few examples of the politically charged and socially critical messages that Idles convey in their songs.
